Sports Premium

Once again, our school has been able to use this government funding to positively impact our pupils’ PE and Sports provision.

Our key successes this year include:

  • Attending a girls’ inter-school cricket tournament.

  • Our oldest children being given the opportunity to adapt our playtimes, to benefit our children further. This included making a few changes to our playleaders’ Challenge Tuesday breaktimes and reshaping our Wellbeing Wednesday playtime provision.

  • 100% of our Y6 children meeting the requirements for swimming and water safety.

  • Using pupil voice to plan enrichment activities and clubs.

  • Offering our teachers CPD in the areas that they feel the least confident in.

For 2025/26, our key targets are:

  • To implement our new PE curriculum and to make any necessary adaptations to ensure its effectiveness.

  • To engage in more inter-school sports events.

  • To support our teaching staff through quality CPD, particularly those who have moved into new key stages, to give them the confidence to teach PE effectively across the school.

  • To further explore and build links with local groups and organisations to enhance and develop our offering, both in school and through signposting to external clubs.

  • To support our new cohort of Y6 children in becoming more confident and competent swimmers.

  • To further develop our knowledge, understanding and delivery of inclusive PE, with a focus on enabling wheelchair users to be fully involved in curriculum sessions.
