Red Nose Day 2025
Today we invited children to come to school in non-school uniform with a red theme. Our play leaders ran sports challenges at lunch time which were based around the 40th anniversary of Comic Relief.
We are taking donations on the gate and look forward to sharing how much we have raised.

Hedgehogs Class Visit to Seaton Wetlands
Hedgehogs had a wonderful day exploring Seaton Wetlands last week. The children took part in a range of hands-on activities including nature hunts, nature listening activity, a bug hunt, and even a game where they became busy bees collecting nectar for the hive!
They learnt about hedgerows, bird boxes, sand martins, cow pats, and the many animals and insects that call these habitats home. A special highlight was the pond dipping, where the children used the nets to fish out insects living in the pond, it was amazing to see how much can be caught that you didn't realise was in there.
With plenty of walking and so much to discover, the children were certainly ready for a rest by the end of the day! A big thank you to Penny at Seaton Wetlands for leading such an engaging day, and to our wonderful Mrs Goff and the parent volunteers for their support.

At the beginning of June, we had an incredible visitor to our school!
Rock and Rapid Adventures joined us for the day with their mobile climbing wall.
The older children have been extremely keen for this event to happen and we were all delighted when the plan came to fruition.
All children from Reception to Year 6 had the opportunity to have a go and we were all so impressed by their courage and determination when taking part.
A huge well done to all of the children for their incredible attitudes to this adventurous activity and for supporting their peers so beautifully too.
We want to say thank you to Miss Grabham who makes all of these things possible for our children.

VOLUNTEERS' WEEK
We want to say a really big thank you to all of our fantastic volunteers. Whether you volunteer for trips, to read with children in class, as part of our wonderful Friends of School team or in any other way. We are incredibly grateful for you and the children are really luckily that you give up your free time for them.
We hope that you all have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you all next week.

This half term, Owls Class have been learning about scultpures. They have learnt how to draw a 3D sculpture using chalk and pastels, they used a stencil to create wire sculptures, carved their very own soap sculptures, created shadow sculptures and for their final lesson created their own vision using recycled materials.
They are such a joy to teach and it was fantastic to see their individual creative visions come to life.

VE80 Anniversary
The children created some beautiful themed bunting which you will spot on our school gates. They also took part in a worship where they learnt about the importance of today. Year 6 children were invited to join the Axminster Service where one pupil shared a prayer on behalf of our school. At lunch time the children enjoyed a traditional fish and chip dinner which was eaten picnic style on our school field.

On Tuesday, we had a visit from the Easter Bunny.
The children took part in an easter egg hunt and were rewarded with a chocolate egg at the end. We would like to say a big thank you to Friends of School who purchased the eggs and volunteered their help with this event.
Is it just us or does the Easter Bunny look suspiciously like Miss Williamson?

We have had a busy time on the playground today!
The children have run a Pokémon treasure hunt and a football target game (with Pokéballs targets).
We have also had the opportunity to do some football and Pokémon mindfulness colouring as part of this week's wellbeing Wednesday.

Schools' Football Week - Day Two
Don't our playleaders look fabulous in their new tops?
Today, they ran a football challenge, which they named 'Ping Ring', and a penalty shoot-out challenge.
The playleaders are bursting with ideas and suggestions for this week - we cannot wait to run more activities across the coming days.

We are very excited to be, once again, getting involved with this initiative.
Our staff and playleaders have been busy planning and preparing a variety of football and Pokémon related activities to keep everyone entertained.
It's going to be a fun-filled, final week of term!

Five of our pupils were selected to represent our school and East Devon in the Devon virtual gymnastics finals.
All of our children performed amazingly well and we are extremely proud of them for showing such passion and self-belief when performing.
A huge thank you to Devon School Games and Active Devon for organising this event for us.
